Pelvic Health

 

It has been proven that Physical Therapy is an effective and essential treatment for pelvic related disorders and should be included in first-line conservative management programs.  Michelle Pacilio MPT has extensive training in the treatment of both men and women's health issues specifically in the areas of pelvic pain disorders, urinary and fecal incontinence, and postpartum and pelvic organ prolapse.

 Treatment

Pre-operative Physical Therapy interventions have been shown to significantly improve the physical outcomes and quality of life for those undergoing corrective surgery for urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. (Jarvis 2005)  In one study, 79% of patients improved significantly enough to avoid corrective surgery altogether. (Bond 2004)
